Origins · Since 1971
We began by saving them.
Hearthstone was founded restoring 150- to 250-year-old log homes across the southern Appalachians — dismantling them log by log, cataloging every mortise and axe stroke, and raising them again on new foundations.
What we learned from those old builders — how a broad-axe finds the grain, how a full dovetail sheds two centuries of rain, how a hearth centers a home — is still the vocabulary of every log we hew today.

A note on these cabins: the Walker Sisters, Elijah Oliver, Noah “Bud” Ogle, and John Oliver homesteads are historic structures preserved by the National Park Service inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Hearthstone had no hand in their construction or restoration — we simply study them. They are shown here as reference, because sculpting new logs to remember what these 150- to 250-year-old cabins never forgot is precisely the work we set out to do.

The Allan & Janie Jones Timberlake®.
A private retreat · Tennessee
A Timberlake® Original built for Allan and Janie Jones — broad-axe hand-hewn logs, fieldstone chimneys drawn from the site, and mountain-laurel joinery carried from the front porch to the stair rail. The home was designed as a family retreat, and like everything Allan touches, it was built to last generations.
A Cleveland, Tennessee native and lifelong Volunteer, Allan is the founder of Check Into Cash and one of East Tennessee’s most quietly prolific philanthropists. His $12.5 million lead gift to the University of Tennessee named the Allan Jones Aquatic Center — the training home of Olympians and a decade of SEC champions — and his family’s giving has revitalized downtown Cleveland, restored the historic Princess Theatre in LaFayette, GA, and supported Boys & Girls Clubs and youth swimming across the region.

Welcome to Hearthstone
Where every project begins with a conversation.
Start with the website — it will give you a sense of what you like and will generate questions. Some answers live here; others don’t. When you’re ready, give us a call, or send an email with a bit of background about your project and what you’d like us to know.
Our Project Managers answer your call directly. That person becomes your “cradle to grave” primary contact within Hearthstone — a valuable consultant on matters that reach beyond our walls. You will never be handed off to customer service after a first check clears.
You’ll need design, manufacturing, delivery, and more. Your Project Manager is the hub of all of it — from the first call until your home is standing on your site, and long after that.
